Flowers Flexi-Academy's Junior Classes is open for children aged between 7-11, (school years 3-6). This class uses a project based learning approach focusing on art history. This incorporates a variety of subjects such as Maths, English, History, Geography and Science.
The day runs on a Wednesdays and Fridays from 8:30am - 3:30pm and is lead by our KS2 teacher, who is experienced in teaching this age group. The day costs £35.00 and runs in term time.
Those in year 6 can work towards achieving their Bronze Arts Award. This is a Level 1 qualification on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF). Silver (level 2) and and gold (level 3) awards can be worked towards in years 7 upwards. The gold award has 16 points on the UCAS tariff.
Friday's Class for years 3 and 4 will also be project based learning led (PBL) and will incorporate further core skills.
Learning is focused around a multi-curriculum approach. Both days aim to:
Develop children's knowledge of culture, art and core subject skills through a range of topics that are planned to evolve around pupil's curiosity and engagement
Encourage pupils to learn and flourish in being creative in response to their learning and the wide range of skills they have developed
Reflect on their learning in order to leave with intrigue and the feeling of achievement and success

Our Seedling's KS1 class work with Gemma. She teaches in a project based learning style, incorporating national curriculum subjects, including Art, Dance and Music. Gemma has lots of energy, is enthusiastic and always ensures that pupils leave her sessions with a smile on their face and having the enjoyment factor all around!
The day encourages children to:
Be adventurous, creative and courageous in their learning and exploration of the curriculum
Have fun, play, experiment and develop achievements in reflection to their mistakes
Be empowered by curiosity and the wonder of the world around us...
